Introduction

Serengeti National Park is good to visit year round as the Great Wildebeest Migration is always happening somewhere in the park. Maasai and other tribes  once called Serengeti National Park home and hence the name Serengeti was derived from the Maasai word Siringet meaning Endless Plains.

Serengeti is one of the top safari destinations in all of Africa and a must stop while on safari in the Northern Circuit here in Tanzania. All of our packages include the Serengeti but if you are choosing to build a tailormade safari with US please keep in mind that this park is a must for everyone visiting our beautiful country!

Wildlife

Home to the world's last + largest mammal migration, Serengeti National Park is known as the Sea of Grass. The Big 5 call these endless grass plains home, as well as the largest populations of Wildebeest, Zebra, Cape Eland, Cheetah, Hyena and Gazelles. Serengeti NP also hosts diverse ecosystems which include more than just the seas of grass, it also hosts resident animals that live within one region of the park such as a Pride of Lions calling a Kopje home or even a Leopard staying near an African Sausage Tree. This proves the point that Serengeti National Park also hosts the largest population of carnivores out of all of the National Parks here in Tanzania.
