Upon arrival, US will pick you up from Kilimanjaro International Airport. From the airport, we will drive you to Karama Lodge for your first overnight stay in Arusha. Your first overnight stay in Arusha allows you to relax / recover from your flight before our trip and also provides us ample time to prepare the safari trucks before we begin.


Depending on your arrival time, your guide will give you a quick briefing for the day’s activities. If you arrive during the day, you’ll have enough time to explore Arusha town should you want. If you arrive at night, we suggest you get ample rest and prepare for tomorrow’s safari.

Arusha National Park

Arusha City is known as the safari capital of the world! After a good nights rest at your accommodations your safari guide will pick you up for your first day on safari in Arusha National Park. Arusha National Park is prime territory for many bird watchers. Expect to find the common Superb Starling, Greater + Lesser Flamingos, Weavers, Bee Eaters, Kingfisher, Egyptian Goose, Crested Crane, Heron, Plover, Hornbill and many many many other species of birdlife!


US highly encourages the use of binoculars here in Arusha National Park and an extra set of eyes to increase the viewing opportunities!

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel in the morning for a 1-2 hours’ drive to Tarangire National Park. This park is often referred to as ― paradise of the elephants. There will be significant chances to spot elephants in large groups gathering around the Tarangire River. Other animals to be spotted include leopards, lions, giraffes and even tree climbing pythons.

Mto Wa Mbu Culture Tour

Mto wa Mbu Village is well known as the boiling pot of cultures from all corners of Tanzania! Learn what people in Mto wa Mbu do for a living, their different modes of production and what exists in the many cultures. There is much to do in Mto Wa Mbu - have a taste of banana beer, visit the Makonde tribe, see the farms and have traditional food prepared by local woman in the village.

Lake Natron

The road to Lake Natron is roughly a 3-5 hour drive from Mto Wa Mbu. Most of the road their passes through Maasai Steppe, showcasing vast views of bomas, plains and acacia forests. We’ll also pass through  Engaruka Village, a village that is over 7 centuries old that remains intact and authentic. 


Lake Natron is a mineral rich lake that greater and lesser flamingos use as breeding and feeding grounds. The waters of the lake turn red from large quantities of haloarchaea, which have a red pigmentation, giving the lake its famous color. Looking over Lake Natron, you’ll see

Ol Doinyo Lengia, which is an active volcano, as well as the Gregorian Rift Valley which is one of the two branches of the Great African Rift Valley.

Lake Natron

On day 6 we’ll start our day by visiting Lake Natron for bird watching and to experience how the locals extract salt from the evaporated waters of the lake.  Afterwards, we’ll go back to the lodge for lunch before we hike to the Lake Natron waterfalls for swimming in cool pristine waters.

Serengeti National Park

We begin the day with a game drive to Serengeti National Park (the 2nd largest and most renowned park in Tanzania). We’re entering the park via Kleins Gate but won’t actually do so until tomorrow. Today we’ll head straight to your next lodge with a picnic lunch on the way. The drive to your lodge is within a conservation area, so it’s still very possible to spot many different animals along the way.

Serengeti National Park

Day 8 is an exciting day of Game driving throughout the Serengeti National Park. We will explore all that the Serengeti hosts; the diverse African wildlife, landforms, & vegetations abound in what is one of Earths greatest explorations. You will have the up-close opportunity to see the big 5, ugly 5, small 5, and one of the most spectacular migrations in the world - The Great Wildebeest Migration.

Serengeti National Park

Day 9 is another day of game driving throughout Serengeti National Park. We will continue our exploration by tracking different species of wildlife and travel new paths to show you more of the Serengeti. There are 14,763km² + 35,000km² of coherent ecosystems in the Serengeti. Trust US, there is LOTS to explore! 


After we’ve had our last game drive inside Serengeti National Park, we will continue on our journey to the world renowned Ngorongoro Crater tomorrow morning.

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we will begin our decent into the crater where will we track wildlife on the crater floor. Approximately 25,000 large animals, mostly ungulates, live in the crater. This includes elephant, buffalo, rhino, lions, leopards, wildebeest, hippos, spotted hyena, and many many more.


On the way in/out of the crater we will have the chance to stop at a Maasai Boma to witness their ancient culture and experience how they interact with wildlife and conservation of the crater.

Lake Eyasi Culture Tour

After a good nights rest and a good breakfast, we’ll begin the 1 hour drive to Lake Eyasi. Upon our arrival to the village, you’ll have time to experience the authentic culture of the Hadzabe Bushmen, Datoga and Mbulu tribes. They still use traditional methods for agriculture, living, hunting, iron melting and tool making. The Datoga and Mbulu people are pastoralists while the Hadzabe are hunter gatherers.

Northern Highland Forest Reserve

The Northern Highland Forest Reserve (NHFR) is a thick forest with an abundance of attractions, including Endorro waterfalls, Elephant caves, flora and birds such as turaco, robin chat, bee-eater, honey guide, warbler, flycatcher, weaver, sunbird, buzzard, cuckoo, hornbill, bulbul, guinea fowl, to name a few.


The common wild animals in the area include elephant, buffalo, leopard, hyena, duiker, waterbuck, baboon, blue monkey, bushbuck, duiker, bush pig and many more. It is an excellent place for nature walks, hiking, bird-watching, flora identification or research, and game viewing on foot.

Lake Manyara National Park

LMNP is famously known for its tree climbing lions, vast varieties of water birds, natural hot springs, diversities of vegetation structures & lush rain forests fed by aquifers from deep within the earth. The largest troupe of baboons in the world call LMNP home and they have been here since the formation of the Great African Rift Valley.

Shopping + Departure

Today will be your last day on safari, we recommend making sure that all of your bags are packed and ready for your flight to Zanzibar. The weight limit for local flights are 20kg per bag. If you are in need of additional baggage, you can of course pay additional upon your arrival to Lake Manyara Airport. Flights to Zanzibar will typically depart around noon  - if you have enough time, you may consider doing some last minute shopping before your departure.


Upon you’re arrival to Stone Town you’ll be picked up from one of our local guides in Zanzibar. They’ll assist with loading all of your luggage and then drive you to your first overnight stay in Stone Town. There are lots of things to do in Stone Town! You’ll have additional opportunities to do thing in Stone Town the day before your departure.

If you were not able to do any activities that you wished to while you were in Stone Town before, we suggest you try today! Stone Town is full of curiosities, culture and characters! 


Also be aware that this is you’re last full Day in Tanzania, we highly recommend taking the time to organize your bags in order to be prepared for your international flight tomorrow. Be sure to also communicate with your local guide and let him/her know what time your flight is so that they will give you ample notice on when you should arrive to Zanzibar International Airport.
